Nordic & Mid Century Inspired
BC Box Renovation in Lantzville

Ideally situated in Lantzville, the client of this split level family home was seeking modern amenities and style, while also wanting to honour/work within the existing architecture of their home. The client’s love of mid century and nordic design coupled perfectly with the base of this modest 1980’s structure. The previously divided kitchen and breakfast nook were opened into one space, allowing the beautiful southern exposure to flood the redesigned kitchen.

Adjustments to existing windows and an additional piano window in the formal dining area, allowed more light and increased sense of space.

For the kitchen, rift oak, flush panel cabinets with a clean white quartz and sharp black accents blended both nordic and mid century aesthetics into this expansive new kitchen.

Countertops were taken right into the window sills for cleaner lines, an uninterrupted stone backsplash, as well as greater countertop depth. Panel-ready appliances, floor to ceiling cabinetry, and colour matched quartz and paint, enhanced the seamless, minimalist look.

Additional highlights included the redesign of two equally eclectic and modern bathrooms; one with rich green walls, heated terrazzo tiled floor, and a green-blue tile mosaic shower surround; the other with coral colour drenched walls/ceiling, a white oak floating vanity with a full wall tropical tile backsplash, and champagne bronze fixtures and accents.

This home balanced fun colourful private spaces that kids and adults alike could appreciate, while keeping primary spaces practical, clean, and easy to keep, ensuring our client wouldn’t miss a beat in the busyness of family life.
